What is your return policy?

We will give a full refund for returns of original sealed boxes for the first sixty (60) days. Returns of open packages within sixty (60) days will be charged 25% restocking charge. After sixty (60) days there will be no refund.

Can the ShabHOT™ Water Heater Controller increase the life span of my water heater?

Yes, according to the US Department of Energy, since you will set your desired temperature according to your needs. Furthermore, the reason water heaters tend to fail after years of usage at specific points (usually at the seams) is because of the extreme temperature differences that causes the tank to contract and expand. This condition eventually will crack the seams. Using the pump could increase the life span of your water heater.

Can I install the ShabHOT™ Water Heater Controller on my existing water heater?

Yes, but keep in mind that you will need to use a certified plumber for the installation

Is it complicated to install?

No, it should take about two to three hours. The installation also depends on your existing water heater condition, and other environmental conditions (e.g. rusty pipes, faulty valves etc.)

Where can I install the ShabHOT™ Water Heater Controller?

The ShabHOT™ Water Heater Controller comes with a 6ft cord. For your convenience the Controller can be installed anywhere else by buying any standard CAT5 cable with RJ45 connectors at your local office supply store (e.g. Staples, OfficeMax, Office Depot, amazon.com etc.)

Do I need an electrical outlet next to the water heater?

Yes, in order to use the electronic gas valve and electronic ignition control, an electricity outlet is required.

Do I need an electrician in order to install the ShabHOT™ Water Heater Controller?

No, the ShabHOT™ Water Heater Controller has plugs that connect easily to any electric outlet, unless you want to hardwire the controller.

I live in a co-op building; can I install the ShabHOT™ Water Heater Controller?

The ShabHOT™ Water Heater Controller can be installed only on residential water heater.

How can I ensure that the controller switched to Shabbat Mode?

When the ShabHOT™ Water Heater Controller changes to Shabbat Mode, the indicator “S-MODE” will show on the screen. In addition, the screen’s background will switch from green to gold / yellow background.

How can I ensure that the temperature is below “Yad Soledet Bo” during the Shabbat?

The ShabHOT™ Water Heater Controller has a screen that shows the accurate temperature within the tank.

What happens in case of an electricity outage during the Shabbat?

The ShabHOT™ Water Heater Controller has three AAA backup batteries in order to store the time, programs, and current mode as set by the user. After a power outage, the ShabHOT™ Water Heater Controller will restore its last mode.

To make thing simpler: in case of a power outage on Shabbat, the batteries will keep the unit on Shabbat Mode.
